UNDERGRADUATE COURSES IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Undergraduates studying the Bacelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Education, pursuing qualifications as secondary teachers, can study Religious Education as either a major subject area or a minor. The courses cover basic studies in Theology and Scripture as well as fundamentals in Religious Education theory and practice. Theology and religious education are core units within the Primary education courses; for the Secondary education programs, religious education is an option.

Studying religious education in these courses will enable a beginning teacher to have the appropriate qualifications for teaching religion (Eg. in Catholic schools).
