DOCTOR
of EDUCATION (EdD) in the Area of MORAL and RELIGIOUS EDUCATION The Doctor of Education degree is a professional doctorate -- catering specially for individuals who wish to do research within their area of professional work (Eg. some aspect of education). While the main component of the program is a research thesis, it is possible within this program to give more attention to the professional work and interests of researchers than in the Doctor of Philosophy program. The EdD program is currently being revised in 2004, with the new structure to be implemented in 2006. The current program is outlined below. Before commencing work on a research thesis, students in the program would normally complete four study units:- one a general unit on culture, change and education; the second and third units are specialist units in Religious Education, while the fourth unit is on research methods.
